Learn to be a leader and take charge of dive activities

Looking for the first step in working with scuba as a career? Your adventure into the professional levels of recreational scuba diving begins with the PADI Divemaster program. Working closely with a PADI Instructor, in this program you expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills to the professional level. PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities, qualifying you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers.

 

What You Learn

The PADI Divemaster course teaches you to be a leader and take charge of dive activities. Topics include:

  • The role and characteristics of the PADI Divemaster
  • Supervising dive activities and assisting with student divers
  • Diver safety and risk management
  • Divemaster conducted programs and specialized skills
  • Business of diving and your career
  • Awareness of the dive environment
  • Dive setup and management
  • Mapping an open water site
  • Conducting dive briefings
  • Organizing a search and recovery project and a deep dive
  • Conducting a scuba review and skin diver course
  • Assisting with Discover Scuba Diving and leading Discover Local Diving programs

One reason you’ll love the Advanced Open Water Diver course is that you and your instructor choose from 15 types of Adventure Dives to complete your course. You can try your hand at EAN Nitrox Diving, Wreck Diving, Night Diving, Search and Recovery, and much more.

Prerequisites

To take this course, you must be:

  • 18 years old

  • A PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another training organisation)

  • A PADI Rescue Diver (or qualifying certification from another training organisation)

  • An Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (or qualifying first aid and CPR training from another organisation) course completion within the past 24 months. 

  • Have at least 40 dives to begin the course and 60 for certification.

  • Be fit for diving and submit a Medical Statement (PDF) signed by a physician within the last 12 months.
